15 months and already a farmer

Kulm, ND
Alex and I spent the weekend at Grandma Rose's house in Kulm, ND. It was a lot of fun to see relatives and show Alex a place that is so important to me. Here are some pictures of our weekend:

Alex loved the spinning wheels on this tractor. He even got to drive a real tractor at Fred Gackle's farm! Fred said that he was trying to take over all the controls.

Alex was a little freaked out by the horse. He'd stick his hand out to pet its nose, but then quickly pull his hand back again. He also saw pigs, piglets, sheep, goats, roosters, chickens and dogs. I think it was a little sensory overload, as he was much more clingy than normal.

Alex turns 15 months tomorrow! This has been a special few weeks as I've been remembering the thoughts and feelings (and all the preparation) of this time last year.

Highlights for the month:

Alex is learning even more words and signs and "talks" all the time. Grant brought him to the grocery store today and commented when he got home that Alex keeps saying "hi" to people until they say "hi" back to him. He is very persistent in his friendliness and enjoys connecting with people wherever he goes.

Alex loves crawling, climbing, spinning in circles, throwing balls and just moving all the time. I'm not sure how to compare him to other kids his age (or even if I should compare) but he seems to be very agile and dodges things and catches himself very well. I'm happy about this because it cuts down on bumps and bruises!
