Travel Update

We got an update from our agency regarding travel today...and unfortunately the news was not what I wanted to hear.

We had thought that we would be getting word very soon (like today or tomorrow) that we could travel to Ethiopia the middle of June. Unfortunately, the judge assigned to our case has been reassigned and we won't hear about when we can travel until June 8th at the very soonest which would put our actual travel to the beginning or middle of JULY!!!

This was very difficult for me to process today but now, after a wonderful evening with Alex, I am feeling much better. I know that these extra weeks will allow us to have lots more fun together before his life becomes unsettled. It also is reassuring that we have already been to Ethiopia and we know what excellent care Almaze is receiving right now. It is difficult to not have her with us, but this is also the part of international adoption that we need to accept and not become angry over. I do believe that God's timing is perfect and now I just need to readjust my expectations for July instead of June!

Update on Alex:
Alex is definitely into being a big boy as in, "I'm not a baby" which he tells us several times a day. He also explains to us that he drinks out of a cup and Almaze drinks out of a bottle and that he'll give Almaze a bottle. When he cries for any reason, he'll come over to me to cuddle and within 30 seconds he'll tell me, "I'm okay now. No more crying." It is definitely bittersweet watching him turn into such a big boy. I'll post more pictures soon!
