Greetings From Ethiopia

We've had an amazing three days with Tesfa so far. We have quickly fallen in love with him and we think he's getting to really like us too! The first night was pretty rough as we decided to bring him to our room rather than leaving him in the crib he's used to and with the caretakers he's come to know. Tesfa never managed to sleep more than 1 1/2 hours at one time so none of us got much sleep. There was lots of crying and we did not know what to do. We eventually threw in the towel and took him back to his regular room before 5:00 a.m. so we could all get at least a couple hours of sleep. We spent all of Saturday hanging out with him and figuring out his signals and decided to leave him with the nannies Saturday night (we'll take advantage of the free babysitting while we can!) and we all had a great night of sleep! We got up the courage to bring him back to our room last night and things went much better as we were all much more comfortable with each other. He only woke up a couple of times and things were much more under control.

Otherwise, we've gotten out of the care center for a couple of short trips. We went to a local market on Saturday and to an international church service yesterday morning. We're going to be moving out of the care center this evening and transitioning to the Ghion hotel for a few days. Several more families just arrived this morning to pick up children so it's been a very exciting around here today. We'll post more later if we get a chance.
