19 months and what happened to 18 months?!?

Alex's first trip to Urgent Care. He had his head glued back together and a pretty purple band-aid to show for it.
Alex just looking very calm and sweet. He does have those moments too!

Alex has had this fire truck for less than a week and so I still need to rip it out of his hands sometimes. He has also been standing on it to get to things out of his reach - dangerous in SO many ways.

19 month update (and, I guess, 18 month too).

Alex had his first day of "school" today at ECFE (Early Child Family Education). We really liked it! I'm so impressed that the teacher can herd 7 toddler boys and get them all doing the same activity at the same time! There are 7 other boys in his class, all about the same age and it appears that Alex is the tallest. At his 18 month appointment, he was in the 90th percentile in height but I wasn't able visualize that until today. Alex has had some problems at daycare with hitting when he wants a toy that Adam (his nemesis) has. Thankfully he didn't show any signs of this today which helped in making a good first impression on the first day of school!

Alex has begun to verbalize quite a bit more which has helped cut down on his frustration (and in turn cut down on screaming and tantrums). He learns a couple of words a day and oftentimes will use the word over and over and over again until he is sure that we know he knows it. He learned the word "help" a couple weeks ago which has been a wonderful new addition to his vocabulary....except when we don't "help" fast enough for his taste!.

One little observation of parenting a toddler... up until a couple months ago I got all sorts of comments in public about how cute and sweet Alex is. Now, people stear clear of the toddler! This doesn't happen all the time, but I definitely notice it more and more.

During Alex's 18 month (mid August), his cousins Samuel and Lukas moved here. It is wonderful to have family in town!
