Happy Halloween

Alex has had LOTS of opportunities to dress up over the past few days. He is really getting into this holiday full of candy!

This picture was at a friend's house on Tuesday. I'll post more pictures of just Alex "Robin" when I'm able to upload them from our other camera.

Almaz wore Alex's lion costume from two years ago and was, of course, adorable! Roarrrrrrrrrrrr

11 Month Update

Almaz turned 11 months on Sunday. She is definitely making her personality more known over the past few weeks, which is so much fun! When she is really excited or happy she literally squeals (and then Alex copies, we tell Alex that it is not okay, and then he says, "but baby Almaz does that!" Ugh).

She is cruising around the house crawling or furniture walking and walks a couple of steps when she feels like it. She likes talking on her cell phone (already) and says, "hi" in a really sweet, really high voice. She loves loves the hour or so when she wakes up from her nap in the afternoon and Alex is still sleeping. She loves to play with toys without the fear of being tackled (or hugged too hard). It is a really easy time for me too since she just contentedly plays near me and I don't have to worry about Alex getting too rough.

Funny thing I've noticed...when I tell Almaz to sit down in her highchair, she looks at me like, "hmmmm. That's an interesting idea. I might do that. Or I might not." When Grant tells her to sit down in her high chair, her head goes back, her mouth goes wide open and she starts howling. Her tongue actually looks like a baby crying in a cartoon.

She's still a great sleeper and has graduated from baby food and is eating small pieces of adult food. Her top two teeth finally came in and the nose running (for the most part) finally stopped! We are so thankful for that.

Family Pictures

Yesterday we had a photographer take pictures of our family at Cedar Lake in Minneapolis. It was a perfect day for this! Based on a pretty bad experience in a studio, I was really dreading that again so I decided instead that we would do an outdoor natural photoshoot. It was a great. The kids and the photographer were super relaxed. I'd definitely recommend the photographer to anyone.

You can click here to see more pictures of the Braasch family than you could ever care to.
When you are at Nicole's page, then click on "Watch Show" underneath the picture of Alex and Almaz.

In other Braasch Family News, Alex is finally a big boy! He has been wearing underwear for a week and he loves it! Of course, I had to post the obligatory bathroom shot:

Almaz 10 Month Update

Beautiful Baby Almaz turned 10 months last week! She has definitely changed a lot since she first joined our family in July. She's put on a lot of weight (I'm having a hard time finding pants to fit her big belly) and is moving around like a rocket. She's just started to stand on her own and, quite literally, just stands there until she gets bored or tired.

Her bottom two teeth are huge and she's been working on her top two teeth for almost a month! She has a constantly runny nose and is a big drool monster. We are very anxious for those teeth to come in. Thankfully the teething process hasn't affected her sleep or her happy temperment.

Alex and Almaz have a lot of fun together. Alex loves hugging Almaz but we are always reminding him that he needs to be gentle when he hugs her since his hugs are more like tackles. Grant taught Alex how to do the Body Slam wrestling move and now Alex tries to "Baby Slam" Almaz (his words). I always need to be watching him/them. Alex's methods for getting me to go to another room have become quite comical and not very subtle (example: "Mommy, go away. Go to the baffroom.")

I had to include this picture! It makes me think of Will Smith in Hitch when he has an allergic reaction to the seafood!
